4. Loisaba Star Beds, Kenya
Two sets of outdoor “star beds” can be found in the Kenyan wilderness — the “Kikobo” beds overlook the waterhole from which they take their name, and the “Koija” beds sit on stilts over the Ewaso N’giro river. Each “star bed” is partially sheltered and contains a “Mukokoteni” (a specialty handcrafted bed on wheels, for moving into and out of the shelter). Kenya is known for its wildlife, so you’re bound to see some amazing creatures in this outdoor getaway.

Ever wanted to be able to go down the stairs of your resort room, hoist the blinds, and be stared down by schools of fish? Spring Time In America

Spring awakens the abundant diversity of floral species along the West Coast of the United States.

Spring Time In America
As springtime arrives in the US, the days begin to grow longer and clocks are turned forward an hour for daylight savings time. Last year, I toured the West Coast at the beginning of spring, starting in Washington State. After a long winter of cold weather and snow, people were eager to flock outside to the streets, parks and beaches to relish the sunshine and blooming flowers. Fields of daisies and dandelions gleamed glorious") under the sun and along lanes, lakes, parks and colleges. Centennial cherry trees were covered in thick blossoms that ran down to their roots. All over Seattle University, a huge throng of people lay or sat on fine lawns and some even climbed the cherry blossoms to take some photos.

Washingtonians revel in this majestic scenery until the erli of March. In early April, vast tulip fields in Washington start to be in full bloom that lasts until the end of the month. Even the kingdom of tulips, the Netherlands, fails to hold a candle to Washington in terms of diversity and total area of the species. The highway to its neighboring state to the south, Oregon, was flanked by lush green trees and vast plateaus sprinkled with sprightly golden mustard flowers. These endless carpets stretch out hundreds of miles to California, where they are a glorious sight in the Santa Clara Valley, around the city of San Jose. This area is also known as Silicon Valley, where thousands of technology companies are headquartered, including giants such as Apple, Facebook, HP, Intel and Google.

Continuing down Highway 5 to the outskirts of Los Angeles is a city named Lancaster. This area is characterized by broad hills blanketed with wild orange poppy flowers, a species that is considered unique and symbolic of the State of California. Every year in early April, visitors from around the country flock to the state to admire these breathtaking flowers.

Spring Time In America Flowers

In the Vietnamese community of Little Saigon in Orange County, flower markets put out their displays, many of which trace their origin to Vietnam such as five petal ochnas, purple hyacinths, countless species of orchids, carnations and particularly peach blossoms that are widespread in virtually all icw households over Tet holidays. Many peach blossoms here are now a hybrid of Japanese sakura, mimosa or golden Californian ochnas. All help make a spring far away from I Ionic for the largest Vietnamese diaspora in America.

In Southern California there is also a species hearing much resemblance to tropical kudzu. Right m Los Angeles stands a centennial Pueraria tree with its vines invading a huge building and its ptit pie white flowers of yellow pistils in full bloom.

Flowers Spring Time In America

The multitudes of flowers of course entice legions of birds and butterflies. Many parks and gardens of bonsais are visited by hummingbirds, a tiny species known for having the world's fastest flying speed. Many photographers take delight in capturing shots of hummingbirds in large bonsai gardens in late March or early April. And in offices, restaurants, hotels and especially residential homes, roses are planted and burst out with fantastic colors all around streets, balconies and gardens.

The enormous size of the US, with its many states having distinct climate conditions, creates a paradise of diverse and abundant flowers, and there is no better time to marvel at the vitality of nature in America than the springtime.

This is the waterfall at Rio Celeste, a river in Costa Rica’s Tenorio Volcano National Park.
The water is actually this dazzling blue colour because of volcanic minerals below the surface — it’s the real-life version of an effect usually only achieved with photo editing software.

To get to the waterfall, you’ll hike about an hour through a tropical rainforest exploding with white-faced monkeys, poison dart frogs, and blue butterflies. Then you can dip in the milky-blue pool, soak in warm hot springs, or plunge into “boiling mud pots.”

Also, guests have the opportunity to watch the Philippine Experience Show where the country’s rich culture comes to life, from its ethnic diversity to its colonial legacy. The dances were painstakingly recreated by the late National Artist for Dance Ramon Obusan of the Cultural Center of the Philippines. Mr. Obusan’s insistence on authenticity sets this show, performed by resort employees and accompanied by the resort’s own musicians and rondalla ensemble, makes this show a far cry from the stylized performances one sees today.
